President's Medals 2023
The Royal Institute of British Architects is now welcoming entries for the 2023 RIBA President’s Medals from schools of architecture worldwide.
Awarded for the first time in 1836, RIBA President’s Medals are the longest-standing and most prestigious architectural education awards programme in the world. Since their early days, the aim of these awards has been to celebrate the contribution of Architecture to social betterment by celebrating excellence and encouraging diversity in architectural education.
Participation in the following categories:
- One dissertation as one single entry for the RIBA Dissertation Medal, written by (a) student/s who is/are enrolled in, is/are about to complete, or has/have completed the current or most recent academic year of a professional qualification in Architecture (RIBA Part 1 or RIBA Part 2 in the case of institutions offering courses validated by the RIBA) to be submitted by the deadline of 3pm GMT on Friday 21 July 2023
- Up to two design projects as two distinct entries for the RIBA Bronze Medal, produced by (a) student/s who is/are enrolled in, is/are about to complete, or has/have completed a RIBA Part 1 qualification in the current or most recent academic year (or normally the first three of five years of a professional qualification in Architecture in the case of courses not validated by the RIBA). The deadline to submit entries in this category is 3pm GMT on Monday 31 July 2023
- Up to two design projects as two distinct entries for the RIBA Silver Medal, produced by (a) student/s who is/are enrolled in, is/are about to complete, or has/have completed a RIBA Part 2 course in the current or most recent academic year (or normally the last two of five years of a professional qualification in Architecture in the case of courses not validated by the RIBA). The deadline to submit entries in this category is 3pm GMT on Monday 31 July 2023
Entries must be saved online in a folder on a cloud storage platform (such as Dropbox, WeTransfer, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.) and a URL link to access and download the folder and its content must be emailed to presidents.medals@riba.org. RIBA staff will download the entries and process them for judging and upload them to the award’s website www.presidentsmedals.com.
