Two cycles, two diplomas, 4 years of training

1st cycle - Licence: 900 supervised hours over 2 years, leading to the Diploma of Architectural Studies [DEEA];
2nd cycle - Master’s degree: 900 supervised hours over 2 years, leading to the state diploma in architecture [DEA].

2019 BID CALENDAR (FOR REMINDER)

► from13 January to 21 March 2021: online applications on https://admission.archi.fr/taiga/cnd/pages/?ce=strb and submission of applications;
► April to June 2021: written and oral admission tests;
► June 2021: results.

Pre-registration fee: 37 euros are to be paid online when the application is finalised.

PROFILES CONCERNED

Anyone working in collaboration with or under the authority of an architect, senior technicians, design office engineers, building contractors, site managers, site supervisors, works managers, architectural assistants, etc., who is not a member of the architectural profession.

APPLICATIONS

All candidates must provide evidence of previous professional activity equivalent to at least three years of full-time employment (for admission to the first cycle) or at least five years of full-time employment (for admission to the second cycle) under the authority of an architect, in partnership with an architect or architectural firm. Candidates must have a professional activity (fixed-term contract, permanent contract, traineeship) for the entire duration of the training under the authority of an architect or an architectural office.

Undergraduate access

The first cycle is open in continuing vocational training. Candidates enter directly into the 2nd year of architectural studies if they meet the following 3 conditions:

1 - they must have a professional activity equivalent to at least 3 years of full-time work in the fields of architecture under the authority of an architect, in partnership with an architect or an architectural office; 

2 - depending on your situation:

  • without a diploma, proof of 8 years’ professional experience in the fields of architecture, construction or spatial planning is required;
  • holder of the Bac, proof of 6 years’ experience in the above-mentioned fields is required;
  • holder of a Bac + 2, proof of 4 years’ experience in the above-mentioned fields.

3 - have validated the acquired knowledge and professional experience and passed the admission tests (General knowledge, Mathematics, Project).

Access in second cycle

The second cycle is open, within the limits of the school’s reception facilities, to full candidates:

  • either the 2nd cycle diploma in architectural studies ;
  • or the diploma of studies in architecture conferring the degree of licence;
  • or a French or foreign title accepted as an exemption or equivalence of the diploma of studies in architecture in application of national regulations.

Candidates must also provide proof of professional activity equivalent to at least five years of full-time work in the fields of architecture under the authority of an architect, in partnership with an architect or architectural firm.

TRAINING COSTS (2019/2020)

1,700 euros/year for trainees who are self-financing (subject to change) ; 
3,900 euros/year for trainees who are funded by a funding organisation (subject to change).

Doctorate in Architecture

ENSAS is entitled to prepare the doctorate in architecture within the doctoral school “Human and Social Sciences: European perspectives” (ED-519) of the University of Strasbourg.

HMONP: habilitation to project management in one’s own name

This course is intended for architects wishing to take on the responsibilities of project management and allows registration on the roll of the Order of Architects.
